RACER5 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
All riders must wear appropriate riding gear, no exceptions. Safety First! This includes: Full-face helmet, leather suit, boots, leather gloves and back protector.
Helmet: All riders must wear a full-face motorcycle helmet in good, undamaged condition.
SNELL M2015 or SNELL M2010 and/or BSI 6658 Type A or ECE 22.05 with a factory manufacturer date of 6 years or less. Open face helmets or modular helmets will not be accepted.
Riders will be asked to present their helmet to tech for approval. Approval lies with RACER5 Tech inspector solely. Riders may also be requested to present other safety gear at any time during an event for inspection.
Leathers: Full one piece or two-piece with 360 degree zip around leather motorcycle suits only.
Boots: All leather boots must extend at least 6 inches above the ankle to approximately mid-calf, overlapping the trouser leg at all times. Boots must NOT use any slider/protective device using metal, steel, titanium or a similar material that creates sparks.
Gloves: All riders must wear guantlet leather gloves with no holes or openings except breathing pinholes.
Back protector: CE Level 2 hard shell back protectors are mandatory and must be worn at all times when operating a motorcycle. Foam or soft-shell protectors are not acceptable.
All motorcycle gear must be:
Free from rips, tears, cracks, excessive wear, exposed seams, age or damage.
If it is raining we also suggest riders use rain gear.
Racer5 offers rental gear providing all items but the helmet. All Racer5 gear is cleaned and disinfected after each rental. Contact us should you have any questions or wish to rent our gear.
RIDER REGISTRATION AND RIDERS MEETING
All riders must be on time and must register for the event and sign waivers prior to participating.
All riders must wear their wristbands at all times.
All riders must attend the Riders Meeting. Riders who do not attend the meeting will not be able to participate in the event.
RACER5 courses and track day events run RAIN or SHINE.
We ask that you come prepared if it is raining. This may include: rain gear, extra clothing, towels and anything else you feel you may need.
There are no refunds or credits available due to inclement weather unless the weather conditions are such that the track officials close the track.

Racer5 Introductory Programs and Endurance Race Series is held at Grand Bend Motorplex in Grand Bend, Ontario.

RIDER AND SPECTATOR CONDUCT
Each rider shall be responsible for the conduct of his or her pit crew and/or pets.
Each rider shall be responsible for leaving his/her pit area in a clean and acceptable condition prior to leaving the track
Children 12 years old and under shall be under adult supervision at all times.
Children cannot ride bicycles, scooters, motorcycles, skateboards or any other device in the hot pit area.
Any person operating any motorized vehicle after racing ends must possess a driver’s licence.
Pets must be on a leash (with leash held or tied off) at all times. Violation of this rule will result in penalty. Pets are not allowed in hot pit lane during the race day while an on-track event is taking place.
Riders whose crew members violate RACER5 and/or track rules and policies will be subject to fine, disqualification, and/or suspension.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
COMPLETING THE RACER5 APPLICATION IS ACKNOWLEDGMENT BY YOU THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND OUR COURSE AND YOUR FAILURE TO BE ABLE TO ATTEND FALLS SOLELY ON YOU.
DUE TO COSTS TO ADMINISTER AND SET UP YOUR SPOTS, YOUR RACER5 FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
YOU CAN CHANGE/CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION 90 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR EVENT BY EMAILING US AT INFO@RACER5.CA. PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU CHOOSE TO CANCEL/RESCHEDULE, YOU WILL LOSE 50% OF YOUR FEE AND YOUR 50% DEPOSIT WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE APPLIED TO YOUR NEXT REGISTRATION. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT CHANGE DATES WITHOUT MORE THAN 90 DAYS NOTICE AND CHANGING YOUR EVENT DATE WITH LESS THAN 90 DAYS NOTICE WILL RESULT IN YOU LOSING YOUR ENTIRE RACER5 FEE.

Bike rentals are for graduates of our Racer5 programs only. Each bike rental requires a prerequisite.

600CC Rental requires 3 previous 250CC rentals
1000CC Rental requires 3 previous 600CC rentals.
TRACK DAY BIKE PREP REQUIREMENTS
RACER5 TRACK DAY BIKE PREP REQUIREMENTS
To prepare your bike for your track day, please ensure you follow the requirements below. All bikes must pass our Racer5 tech inspection before admittance on the track.
Coolant must be drained and replaced with distilled water – Water Wetter or Mocool is permitted however glycol-based additives are NOT allowed
Mirrors must be removed or taped
All glass, headlights, turn signals and plastic lenses must be taped over or removed. Lights must not be visible.
Sidestand removed or zip-tied up
Chain adjusted properly
Brake pad material is sufficient and in working order
Suspension not leaking
Steering Head Bearings feel smooth when turning or compressing the suspension
Wheels turn freely
Tires must be in good condition
Throttle return spring works
Emergency kill switch operational
Clutch works (return spring)
No visible oil leaks
All bikes must have a handlebar-mounted kill switch in working order
All valve stems must have caps
License plates removed
It is advised that wheel balance weights be taped over
Participants with bikes that fail the tech inspection will not be allowed on the track, nor will they be given any refunds.
IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT?
All participants must be at least 13 years of age to partake in any Racer5 courses or events.
